How to Grow Your Business With Social Media: 6 Expert Tips. Small business owners can use social media to connect with prospects and customers. When done properly, it can boost sales. But if you aren’t careful, it can be a huge time sink, or even backfire by alienating customers and prospects.
Here are six strategies that small business owners can employ to become more successful on social media.
Set clear objectives, Social media
Examine how social media can help you achieve your top three marketing objectives. It is all too common for business owners to believe that they have to be there. Social media has to help you reach your goals or you’re just wasting your time. If you’re not using social media to help you reach your goals, you’ll be left behind. Your business cannot thrive without the help of social media, but it can also achieve its goals through it.
Establish your authority
In 2022, you can’t over-invest in your LinkedIn presence as a business owner. People working in sales or marketing, or anyone who wants to advance their career or success, should follow this advice as well. By focusing on LinkedIn audiences and engagement, you can increase sales and conversions. Additionally, it will lead to amazing collaboration opportunities.
LinkedIn is also excellent for attracting amazing opportunities to be seen as a leading authority in your industry, as someone who turns entrepreneurs into media celebrities. Authority has value. If you have a lot of it, then you’ll be able to take advantage of all kinds of growth opportunities.
Engage in a conversation
It’s important to remember that Facebook rewards posts that have interaction with their algorithm. Facebook will not show a post that a business posts without a response. They want to keep people on their website, and they can only do that by showing interesting posts and stories. With Facebook’s announcement that they will change their algorithm, it’s going to get more difficult. Content from friends will now take precedence over content from companies and other pages.
Asking questions and responding to the answers is key. There is nothing wrong with a car dealer posting a picture of someone buying their first car. Alternatively, they can turn around and ask people, ‘What was your first car?’ Then, they can respond to what people say. The person answering the question is not a car dealer, he is a car dealer who knows his first car.
Express your appreciation
Social media isn’t just about you! That’s the most important thing about it! Social media is not just about sharing what you’ve won, or what you’ve got on special.
You have the chance to connect, in a meaningful way, with those who have supported and helped you in your business. Social media allows you to recognize and thank the 10 to 20 most important people in your business world who helped you along the way. You can thank them by liking, following, and sharing their posts and tweets. That is your way of saying thanks. Most importantly, they will appreciate it and continue supporting you.
Stand out, Social media
It is personal to use social media. Your personal brand is more important than your business or job. It is important to convey your personality. Stand out. Stand out from the crowd. In a world of social media noise, you need to stand out and be remembered, so you don’t have to wear a superhero costume like me.
Dominate on one platform
You should find out where your target customer spends most of their time online. Focus on one social media platform and dominate it. You should claim your profiles on the other networks, but you should spend most of your time on that one. Start there. Start ‘friend-raising’ online. My first six months on Twitter were spent sharing other people’s content. If you are going to share your own content, do it on a four-to-one ratio: share four pieces of someone else’s content for every one of your own. The advice I give on Twitter, where I have over 324,000 followers, is to be sweet and retweet.
